Enville Ginger Wins at Stourbridge Beer Festival 2010
Beats off competition from 95 different brews
Organiser Tony Morris told us, "We had about 1700 people visit the Festival, we sold the equivalent of 97 Kilderkins of beer and cider and we raised £750 for Mary Stevens Hospice.
Beer of the festival voted for by visitors was .... Enville Ginger. Hopefully we can arrange a visit sometime soon!"
97 kils of ale equates to almost 14,000 pints of beer and cider - that must be getting close to a record for any beer festival!! . . . . see the photos

GINGER GOTHIC Wins Top Award at Dudley Ales Fayre
That's right our latest creation, Enville Ginger Gothic went down a treat with the vast majority of visitors to the Dudley Winter Ales Fayre and the CAMRA judges agreed, awarding it 'Best In Show'.
The idea for the brew came from CAMRA members themselves though we weren't so sure to begin with. Read more about how it came to be brewed.
The process of being chosen as best in show was not easy. First every ale in the festival was tasted by voters and the top ten put through to a blind tasting by the judging panel comprising CAMRA members, licencees and brewers, so to be selected as Best in Show was a huge honour.
We also launched our new Belgian-style beer, 'Cherry Blonde' at the Festival which was also well received by visitors.

SIMPKISS JOINS THE CLAN
That old favourite of Black Country drinkers, Simpkiss Bitter has been brewed by Enville for a few years now. After reviving it we thought it was about time we brought it into our stable of products by adapting the
traditional oval design of the Simpkiss pump clip so that it fitted better alongside our other popular brews so here it is. We'd love to know what you think and whether you've tried Simpkiss Bitter - We love it! Click the logo to discover more about Simpkiss Bitter (and other Enville brews).

Enville Ale & Curry Night at Enville Hall
This year's gathering at Enville Hall was attended by around 200 people and very enjoyable it was too with over 500 pints of six different ales being served on the night!
Owen and Jerry were very grateful for the fantastic help they had from Kay and Jill without whom they simply wouldn't have coped! In under four hours the Enville bar team managed to serve 6 different ales from nearly 8 Firkins (72 pints) which is equivalent to a little over 1,000 half pints of beer. One glass every 14 seconds!

Enville ran the bar at the recent 'Glass Reflections' weekend at Ruskin Glass Centre in Amblecote where former glass workers gathered together from local factories to relive past memories and turn their hand once again to making glass at the former Royal Doulton/Webb Corbett factory (that many people don't realise is still turning out glass as part of the Ruskin Mill Educational Trust college) - and yes, it IS open to the public, with a great cafe and lots of studios working in glass and other crafts too.

September 2008:
Enville not only provided and staffed the bar at the third International Festival of Glass over the August Bank Holiday but we once again brewed a special ale for the event. The brew called 'Egyptian Gold', following one of the main themes of the festival, was offered alongside Enville Ale and Enville Ginger quenching the thirst of around 10,000 visitors to the Ruskin Glass Centre in Amblecote, the hub of the Festival events and where the prestigious British Glass Biennale exhibition was held. The Wollaston Pub Fun Run was as popular as ever this year with several hundred 'staggerers' suitably dressed to take the process seriously as a sporting event! April 2008:
To mark St. Georges Day Enville created a new brew which we appropriately named 'Dragons Den' and, in a tie up with the local CAMRA groups, launched it alongside CAMRA's "Ales 'n' Tales 4" bulletin at The Robin Hood in Collis Street, Amblecote. Landlord Ben Jeavons dressed impeccably to ensure each pint was pulled with suitable decorum and he and his team put on a great buffet for the occasion. The new ale went down a treat, so much so that it has been repeated on two subsequent occasions. MORE PHOTOS
